Updating Management Reporter to Use a New GP Budget

I was responding to requests on the Etelligent Support Desk a couple of weeks ago when I addressed a situation where budget numbers had been updated in Dynamics GP but an income statement in Management Reporter wasn’t reflecting the changes.  This is a question that I have dealt with in the past and was able to quickly address for our client this time. 

In this case the user had created a new Budget ID for the updated numbers in Dynamics GP but hadn’t updated the column definition (Figure1) in Management Reporter to use the new Budget ID.

Once they selected the new Budget ID (Figure 2), saved their change, and re-ran their income statement report, the expected values were displayed.

Experienced Management Reporter and FRx users are probably familiar with the process of updating their financial statement layouts whenever they make changes in Dynamics GP.  But some users may be in a new role or position and hopefully this article will be helpful to them.
